Today I have a thank you card to share with you. The butterfly file is one I bought from the Silhouette Store which I've welded into a shaped edge card. The card stock is silver pearlised which I've made into my 6 x 6 card. I've put fuschia pink vellum behind the butterflies to make them stand out. The sentiment was made with my Cameo, it's great to be able to make a sentiment in a variety of fonts and shapes. I've finished my card with matching ribbon and a few gems.

Butterfly edge card
I thought I'd show you this very feminine card before I get busy into the weekend :-) The butterflies are from a file I purchased from the Silhouette Store but I've used just part of it and turned it into a shaped card on my Cameo. When I was learning to do this my talented friend Adele kept me right. My card stock is a lovely pearlised lilac, one of my top 5 colours, I added sparkle to the butterflies with glitter which has a tone of lilac in it. The backing paper is from a stack of Riverbank Revels. I cut my the sentiment which is again from the Store and added some sparkle afterwards. I've kept the insert the same size as the main card to you can see through the butterflies.

I'm kind of back
Hello crafting friends, well I'm sort of back but I hope you will bear with me if I just post perhaps every few days, even stretching to a week. Also again please understand that I can only manage to visit you all around the same time. I'm coping much better but I need to stay active to help myself mentally and physically or I will be the worse for it and end up back where I've struggled from.
I do have a card to share with you today. I've learned quite a lot but I will show you the easier ones first.
As you see it's a silver wedding card. Learning to put a number in a frame is quite basic but that's where it's best to start. I edged the numbers with Stickles which I've not used before and I can't say I'm that thrilled, I'm more of a brush girl I think. I've put silver mirror card behind the numbers in keeping with the theme. The flower is a petal pairs punch which I layered with foam pads and then edged with Stickles. I typed the word Celebrate into Studio, added the layers and made up my sentiment. To finish I've added ribbon with silver hearts on it and placed a few gems between. I've since made this card up in other numbers as numbered cards are handy to have in your stash.

Dear crafting friends
If you saw my last post you would gather I was feeling a bit under pressure. Well I've had to visit the doctor re pain (yes again) and he says it's stress affecting my gullet. I didn't imaging that with the pain where it is that it would be that. However though I don't feel stressed like I did before I am feeling a bit of pressure and I have a couple of worries so I guess he's right. So I'm going to take my medication and take 2 or 3 weeks off my blog and visiting, hope you all understand why. I still want to chill out and craft, keep up my learning on my Cameo but I need to get myself out of doors, meet up with my dear friends, walk in the country etc as I know very well that if I don't this will just get worse. Action needed now I think. Happy crafting my dear friends. Polly x

New Baby Boy
Sorry I've not posted in a while, to be honest I've been playing with my Cameo trying to learn how to design. sometimes it all goes wrong :-( At last I thought, I had done something worth showing you, took it off the mat only to find it was in two pieces, didn't show until I removed it. Oh well, I have to try or I won't learn but so far more is in the bin than is useable.
So today I'm showing you a very simple card I made in a hurry when I had my Cricut Expression. I cut the shaped card on my Cricut. The paper is from my older stash so not sure where it's from. The image is from way back when I was into ready made images (seems light years ago) but as the baby ones were pretty I hung onto them. I inked the edges of my card with Distress Inks. The ribbon is from my stash, I hope you can see it says "Its a Boy" on it. The die cut is a Spellbinders with I cut on some pretty shaded cardstock. I added a few gems to finish.

Flower frame
Good evening ladies. I made this card in no time at all thanks to a lovely template by Shirley. I wanted to have a break from concentrating for hours as I have on the last two cards. I like to have a few cards in my stash without a sentiment so I can use them as and when needed for various occasions. I made the card on my Cameo from lilac cardstock. After trying many colours to use underneath the the flower cut out I went for white as nothing else showed it off as well. I added gems to the flowers, lilac ribbon with a tiny bow then flower gems to echo the flowers in the card and I was done. I think less is more for this card.

Fairy Shaped Card
I'm rather pleased with myself as I've made my first cut file card on my Cameo. As you see it's a shaped card. I'm sharing this file with you here Many thanks to Adele who advised me when I was tearing my hair out. This is the same fairy as I used on my clock and it's from the Silhouette Store. First I cut out the card it'self in cream cardstock. Then the Fairy in lilac and added her as a topper. I've put acetate behind her wings so that when I added the sparkle those areas would be transparent for realism. I've also glittered the outline of her wings and her sash. The sentiment is another 3 layer cut in two shades, again designed and cut on my Cameo. To finish off I've added a lilac ribbon printed with hearts and a bow. The top layer of the insert is cut short so it doesn't show behind the fairy.

Wedding card
I've had problems with my back this week and problems with this card! Sorry my photo makes the sentiment look dark as it doesn't in reality. I'll take you through it, I began with an embossed background on my card. Next I used my Cameo to cut a lattice which is a free file by Debbie, I used a lovely pearl card then threaded this with white satin ribbon and added a few pearls. Using my Cameo again I cut the wedding bells file from Silhouette, I finished this with a little glamour dust. So far all went well until the sentiment. This is a 3 layer file which I wanted to cut in two colours, pearl and silver. I wanted silver as the top layer has strands as thin as cotton thread which wouldn't look good unless on something delicate. Oh my ladies you won't believe how difficult this was and I have to give hugs hugs and thanks to my dear friend Adele who is so talented and very happy to give her valuable advice. Only by learning how the various aspects of text work in Studio will I then be able to make my own text with layers. That top layer was such a pain, I've lost count how many times those tiny strands broke off, sometimes in the cutting, sometimes just putting them down on the top of the sentiment. Now I will show you the inside, oh I know I don't usually as I mostly write my own verse to suit the receiver. This time no verse as you will see as I know the lovely couple will love this.
This is my first pop-up on my Cameo, I bought the file from Cocopopart, they have some amazing files for sale. I've put a pearlised orange paper behind the pop-up to light it up then to the left I've added a Silhouette cut file which is a heart flourish. I've only stuck down the top part so the actually hearts could fly free. What do you think my crafty friends?

Winter Sports
Welcome and many thanks to my new followers.
I saw this cut file on Birds cards and straight away thought of a person (male) who as a keen skier would love a birthday card like this. I've not been able to put many layers on it as I would have liked as it's going to be sent abroad. I've used a background paper with snow flakes on it to set the scene. The layers are paper to save weight apart from the skis which are light card. The skis, poles, ski mask, gloves and upper arm are popped up with foam pads. I typed the sentiment into Silhouette Studio and cut it in the matching red paper, I hand cut the black mat and kept fairly straight lines more suited to a male.

It's done!
Hasn't my DH done a great job? It took him just 3 days and I'm thrilled to bits. OK it's small but it holds everything I have and I've got space to work. I just need to get some small racks of some sort to hang over the work top to put small things in to save shelf space and also keep them handy. I've looked everywhere and not found anything so please let me know if you are aware of something suitable. Meanwhile I wanted to show you my space. You can see the clock I decorated and the Keep Calm picture, as one wall can't have shelving due to the narrow space I can decorate it :-)

One year old
My DH has started on a makeover for my little space! Everything is again stashed in a heap so it will depend on what I can make from what I already have as to if I can post while it's all going on. The wait will be worth it I'm sure.
I finished this card last night. I'm using one of Birds cut files again, just couldn't resist this one. I'm well in advance in time scale for this card in terms of need but the image suggested to me that it could be a birthday card just as well as a birth card. I cut teddy with my Cameo in this cute spotted paper that I've had in my stash for ages. I've popped the various layers with foam pads to give good depth as I can hand this one out. Whoopee no posting, it so limits the design if you don't want high postage. Ted is holding a silver number 1 which I cut on my Cameo. Its such a joy this machine, you can just about cut anything you can type so now I have a small stash of numbers ready for when I need them. The circle die cut is also one of Birds. To contrast with the pink spotted paper I've used pink stripes for my background paper and used pink spotted ribbon from my stash. To finish I've used the little girls name instead of a sentiment to personalise the card which I know will please her mum. I typed this into Silhouette studio to make a cut file, mounted it onto white card and cut out by hand to fit the space on the corner.

You're special
Today I'm showing you a card I've made for a birthday I have coming up later on. The paper is from a pad by Prima Botanicals which came free a long time ago with a magazine. It compliments the flower as the small flowers are just a shade paler. I cut the lovely swirly frame in pearl paper, it's a free file by Bird, I so enjoy using her cut files. The intricate flower is in 6 layers which I purchased from the Silhouette. I cut it with my Cameo using dark red pearl paper. I've popped each layer with foam pads and added a pearl in the centre. The sentiment I've also cut with my Cameo, mounted it on pearl paper and then on the matching red. Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. Plus a very special thanks to my new followers.

Something different
Good morning, today I'm showing you something I've been working on for a few days. I've long wanted to decorate a clock but I found the postage of the items needed added up to more than the clock itself. Then last week I saw a large clock for £2.99! As it's large it gave me the scope to decorate it in my style. The first backing paper I chose I made a mess of when I placed my numbers as they were not square set so I had to begin again only slower and learn from my mistakes! This paper is by K&Company by Brenda Walton. Firstly I traced the position of the original numbers on the clock then I could place my own correctly. I stuck my paper onto the clock with spray and stay to give a very even result having removed all working parts first of course. I cut my numbers with my Cameo just using the Ariel font so they were not fussy then used my traced image to help me stick them exactly. The 2 little girl fairies are from the Silhouette store. Two of the butterflies are by Bird the others from the Silhouette store. I've glittered the fairies wings and the butterflies plus a few gems. I added a larger butterfly right in the center of the hands so each time the clock ticks the butterfly flies. I'm so happy with this as it contains all my top 5 loves, my Cameo, butterflies, fairies, flowers and bling. It is of course for my tiny space.

My Valentine
Here is my valentine card for my DH. The image is a freebie by Inger Harding which I've coloured with my Copics. I've started with a shaped card cut with a Go Kreate die on ice turquoise pearl card. Next I cut a smaller deeper turquoise layer with a the same die set. The background paper is from a Romantic pad which I bought in Lidl a while ago. I've inked each layer with Tim Holtz ditress ink in dusty concord and finished off with a sentiment made on my computer. All the items on this card have been made a while ago when I've been playing with something or another so I searched my stash of things I made earlier and made this card. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Keep Calm
I've made this today for my little space and I'm so pleased with it. Perhaps I should have photographed it without the glass as you can see the shine I'm afraid and it looks paler than it is in reality. The background is a satin silver card and the decoration is on wine coloured paper with a sheen. I've added gems to the crown. I re sized the crown to make the smaller corner ones. It's cut on my Cameo and the Crown is a Silhouette file. It did have a text with it but when I added "and craft" I couldn't get the text to match exactly so I wrote it myself and then cut it on the Cameo.

Not a good day grrrr
Sorry not to have posted for a few days, life got in the way. I was working on a card made with my Cameo that has ended up in the trash, added to that my hairdresser came hours late then burnt me!!!! So I'm going to show you 2 cards instead, like they used to say on Blue Peter "here's one I made earlier". It's not with sticky backed plastic though for those of you born early enough to get that joke! Again they are embossed as I was unable to tear myself away once I got started.
My first layer onto my cardstock is a textured card in a nice shade of pewter (well that's what I call it). Next is a lace edge that I made with my Cricut and kept in my stash. On top of this is the embossed layer. I've coloured the flowers and leaves with Copics to give it a spring like feel, cheery for a get well card. I typed Get Well into Studio and then cut it out with the Cameo layering this onto a square of the textured layer I first began with. This is set onto a small green cut I did on the Cameo. The whole card is sat on a lovely little holder which I downloaded from the Silhouette Store and cut out on my Cameo, so useful for photographing cards.
This second card is another get well as I've needed to use a few from my stock of late. My base cardstock is dark gold. On top of this I've added a layer of lighter gold textured card. The embossed layer is pearlised cream paper and once again I've done some colouring here and there but this time with metallic glimmer paints to pick up the metallic shades in the card layers. The sentiment is the same one I typed myself as above but cut in the light gold card and attached to a dark gold mat. I do hope I've not bored you with my embossing? I've made more but may leave them to post at a future date such as today when all went wrong.

Embossing-another style
So I'm still playing with my embossing folders and my wonderful Cameo. Again I've embossed straight onto plain white cardstock with another Debbi Moore sheet. This one is Regency Trellis. I wish she had made other designs that I like as they are sheets not folders. I love this ribbon which I bought at a show (wish I'd bought more) as it not only sparkles but has shades of purple through to lilac and it has a lovely texture. I've picked out the center of some of the flowers with gems. The circle is a Marianne die cut in pearlised paper and my sentiment and flower is a Silhouette one. This one cuts so well and I love it so why make another. Thanks for looking.

Some elegant embossing
I've unearthed some of my embossing folders which I'd not used in a long time. Having bought a Grand Calibur and getting great results made me try embossing again, I've even ordered some new folders which I will be showing you later. So the details are, embossing sheet by Debbi Moore Flower swirls embossed straight onto card stock. I felt that picking out some of the detail with a Copic pen would give a different look. I used my Cameo to cut a mat in a closely matching paper and the sentiment is one from Silhouette "I care about You", a change from get well I think. I'm totally thrilled with the way the Cameo will cut a small intricate cut with ease. I finished it off with some matching green ribbon and just a tie rather than add a bow to keep with the elegant look I was aiming for. The photo doesn't quite show the sentiment at it's best as the I doesn't show up as it does in reality.

Desk Tidy, first Cameo file
Brr it's snowing out there. This morning I have my first Cameo file to show you, sadly I can't share it as it's not perfect :-( I had to modify it as I assembled it. Yes of course I could have just measured my card and cut it out which would have been quicker but the object was to play with Studio and learn some of the features. It's cut in my favorite wine coloured card which you won't be seeing again as I can't get anymore. The black check trim card is some card I've had for a long time but never found a use for, I think it looks fine on this though and as it's card it will make the box more sturdy round the edges. I've made 3 compartments and it's quite roomy, I just popped these few things in to show it will hold a lot. Thanks for looking.

Birthday card
My card today is to add to my stock of cards ready for me to choose from when I need. This is another of the lovely Adele's free files. My base card is satin finish gold cardstock with a peach layer of matt paper above cut from a slightly re sized cut. The flourish layer is also by Adele cut in white pearlised paper to give the card a little glamour. I've added a Silhouette cut file Happy Birthday again in pearlised white which I re sized to fit.

Tissue Box Cover
Today I have a tissue box cover to show you. Thanks to Kelly at Finding time to Create for this lovely free file which I've then decorated to suit me. The cut files for the butterfly, the shape mount and the border are all free from Bird's web site, two very talented ladies. As you know I love glitter and bling so my wine coloured (yes I love red wine too!) base card has a slight sheen to it. The Ribbon trim is cut from a textured paper again with a sheen, the outer edge of the butterfly is cut from the same while the inside of it is pink glitter. I've re sized the butterfly to fit my box and the same goes for the border. The outer layer of the shaped cut is the same card as the box itself but in cream giving a nice sheen outline to the shape. The diamond shaped die is from Spellbinders using a textured paper with sparkle. Thanks for looking and your very welcome comments.

New Year, update, I've sorted it!
Happy New Year dear friends, sorry I'm late and I've been a while posting but as you know it's work in progress for my little new "cubby hole". Not just that but one of the bugs going around got me! I'm up and fighting it back ha ha. You will be wanting to know if I've tried my new toy, the very wonderful Cameo and yes I'm thrilled with it. I believe you need to play a lot to learn a new machine and that's what I'm doing in the main. I did have a card to show you. I've used a free cut file from the very talented Adele. However it seems something has changed while I've not been posting and I can't find a way to upload a photo from my computer. I will have to keep trying and post it as soon as I can. Wow, thanks to my lovely friend Karon I've changed to Chrome and it's worked after spending hours trying yesterday. I made this card is 2 colour ways and liked both as much. I've placed gems on this one but they don't show much on the photo, sorry.
