My Valentine
Here is my valentine card for my DH. The image is a freebie by Inger Harding which I've coloured with my Copics. I've started with a shaped card cut with a Go Kreate die on ice turquoise pearl card. Next I cut a smaller deeper turquoise layer with a the same die set. The background paper is from a Romantic pad which I bought in Lidl a while ago. I've inked each layer with Tim Holtz ditress ink in dusty concord and finished off with a sentiment made on my computer. All the items on this card have been made a while ago when I've been playing with something or another so I searched my stash of things I made earlier and made this card. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Keep Calm
I've made this today for my little space and I'm so pleased with it. Perhaps I should have photographed it without the glass as you can see the shine I'm afraid and it looks paler than it is in reality. The background is a satin silver card and the decoration is on wine coloured paper with a sheen. I've added gems to the crown. I re sized the crown to make the smaller corner ones. It's cut on my Cameo and the Crown is a Silhouette file. It did have a text with it but when I added "and craft" I couldn't get the text to match exactly so I wrote it myself and then cut it on the Cameo.

Not a good day grrrr
Sorry not to have posted for a few days, life got in the way. I was working on a card made with my Cameo that has ended up in the trash, added to that my hairdresser came hours late then burnt me!!!! So I'm going to show you 2 cards instead, like they used to say on Blue Peter "here's one I made earlier". It's not with sticky backed plastic though for those of you born early enough to get that joke! Again they are embossed as I was unable to tear myself away once I got started.
My first layer onto my cardstock is a textured card in a nice shade of pewter (well that's what I call it). Next is a lace edge that I made with my Cricut and kept in my stash. On top of this is the embossed layer. I've coloured the flowers and leaves with Copics to give it a spring like feel, cheery for a get well card. I typed Get Well into Studio and then cut it out with the Cameo layering this onto a square of the textured layer I first began with. This is set onto a small green cut I did on the Cameo. The whole card is sat on a lovely little holder which I downloaded from the Silhouette Store and cut out on my Cameo, so useful for photographing cards.
This second card is another get well as I've needed to use a few from my stock of late. My base cardstock is dark gold. On top of this I've added a layer of lighter gold textured card. The embossed layer is pearlised cream paper and once again I've done some colouring here and there but this time with metallic glimmer paints to pick up the metallic shades in the card layers. The sentiment is the same one I typed myself as above but cut in the light gold card and attached to a dark gold mat. I do hope I've not bored you with my embossing? I've made more but may leave them to post at a future date such as today when all went wrong.

Embossing-another style
So I'm still playing with my embossing folders and my wonderful Cameo. Again I've embossed straight onto plain white cardstock with another Debbi Moore sheet. This one is Regency Trellis. I wish she had made other designs that I like as they are sheets not folders. I love this ribbon which I bought at a show (wish I'd bought more) as it not only sparkles but has shades of purple through to lilac and it has a lovely texture. I've picked out the center of some of the flowers with gems. The circle is a Marianne die cut in pearlised paper and my sentiment and flower is a Silhouette one. This one cuts so well and I love it so why make another. Thanks for looking.

Some elegant embossing
I've unearthed some of my embossing folders which I'd not used in a long time. Having bought a Grand Calibur and getting great results made me try embossing again, I've even ordered some new folders which I will be showing you later. So the details are, embossing sheet by Debbi Moore Flower swirls embossed straight onto card stock. I felt that picking out some of the detail with a Copic pen would give a different look. I used my Cameo to cut a mat in a closely matching paper and the sentiment is one from Silhouette "I care about You", a change from get well I think. I'm totally thrilled with the way the Cameo will cut a small intricate cut with ease. I finished it off with some matching green ribbon and just a tie rather than add a bow to keep with the elegant look I was aiming for. The photo doesn't quite show the sentiment at it's best as the I doesn't show up as it does in reality.

Desk Tidy, first Cameo file
Brr it's snowing out there. This morning I have my first Cameo file to show you, sadly I can't share it as it's not perfect :-( I had to modify it as I assembled it. Yes of course I could have just measured my card and cut it out which would have been quicker but the object was to play with Studio and learn some of the features. It's cut in my favorite wine coloured card which you won't be seeing again as I can't get anymore. The black check trim card is some card I've had for a long time but never found a use for, I think it looks fine on this though and as it's card it will make the box more sturdy round the edges. I've made 3 compartments and it's quite roomy, I just popped these few things in to show it will hold a lot. Thanks for looking.

Birthday card
My card today is to add to my stock of cards ready for me to choose from when I need. This is another of the lovely Adele's free files. My base card is satin finish gold cardstock with a peach layer of matt paper above cut from a slightly re sized cut. The flourish layer is also by Adele cut in white pearlised paper to give the card a little glamour. I've added a Silhouette cut file Happy Birthday again in pearlised white which I re sized to fit.

Tissue Box Cover
Today I have a tissue box cover to show you. Thanks to Kelly at Finding time to Create for this lovely free file which I've then decorated to suit me. The cut files for the butterfly, the shape mount and the border are all free from Bird's web site, two very talented ladies. As you know I love glitter and bling so my wine coloured (yes I love red wine too!) base card has a slight sheen to it. The Ribbon trim is cut from a textured paper again with a sheen, the outer edge of the butterfly is cut from the same while the inside of it is pink glitter. I've re sized the butterfly to fit my box and the same goes for the border. The outer layer of the shaped cut is the same card as the box itself but in cream giving a nice sheen outline to the shape. The diamond shaped die is from Spellbinders using a textured paper with sparkle. Thanks for looking and your very welcome comments.

New Year, update, I've sorted it!
Happy New Year dear friends, sorry I'm late and I've been a while posting but as you know it's work in progress for my little new "cubby hole". Not just that but one of the bugs going around got me! I'm up and fighting it back ha ha. You will be wanting to know if I've tried my new toy, the very wonderful Cameo and yes I'm thrilled with it. I believe you need to play a lot to learn a new machine and that's what I'm doing in the main. I did have a card to show you. I've used a free cut file from the very talented Adele. However it seems something has changed while I've not been posting and I can't find a way to upload a photo from my computer. I will have to keep trying and post it as soon as I can. Wow, thanks to my lovely friend Karon I've changed to Chrome and it's worked after spending hours trying yesterday. I made this card is 2 colour ways and liked both as much. I've placed gems on this one but they don't show much on the photo, sorry.
